Dr Sivajiganesan The No1 Ranked Actor The World has ever seen
Sivaji Ganesan is regarded as the greatest actor ever in the history of Tamil cinema. Born Viluppuram Chinnaiah Ganesan in Sirkali, Tamil Nadu in 1927, He made his reputation as an actor in CN Annadurai's Sivaji Kanda Indhu Rajyam, a historical on the Maratha Emperor Shivaji, then he made his film debut playing the lead role in Parasakthi (1952).The film is one of the most controversial films in the history of Tamil Cinema, replete with assonant monologues. It owed its success in large part to its dialogues written by Karunanidhi and the film was huge commercial success too.
He was well known for his versatility and acting skills with numerous roles depicted on screen. Heprogressed from a stage actor since his childhood to the filmdom with such an authority that the Tamil cinema considered as the golden era. In a career spanning close to five decades he has acted in nearly 300 films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
Highest honourable award Dada Saheb Palke Award
Ganesan has won the President's Award for more than 12 times for his performance in various films. Hewas also honoured with civilian awards such as Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and Dada Saheb Palke Award,the highest award in India for people involved in film industry.
His role in the film Veerapaandiya Kattabomman won him the Best Actor Award at the Afro-Asian Film festival held in March 1960 at Cairo His portrayal of Lord Shiva in the movie Thiruvilayadal won him lot of accolades In the film Navarathiri (1964), Ganesan played nine different roles that represented the nine emotional states of a person. His epical portrayals in films like Thiruvilayaadal, Thiruvarutselvar, Saraswati Sabatham, Harichandran, Thirumal Perumai, Karnan and Thillana Mohanambal won him critical acclaim.He played a variety of roles in many films and his remarkable films such as Pasa Malar, Bahapirivenai, Pavamanipu, Paalum Pazhamum, Alayamani, Puthiyaparaavai, Vasantha Maligai, Gauravam, Raja Raja Chozhan, Thri Soolam, Thankappathakkam and etc
He has worked with many actresses, including Bhanumathi Ramakrishna, Pandaribai, B Sarojadevi, Padmini, savitiri, Vyjayanthimala, Devika,K. R. Vijaya, Vanisri and Jayalalitha of his time. He also co-starred with other actors such as Gemini Ganesan, S.S.Rajendran, Muthuraman, M. R. Radha and S. V. Ranga Rao in numerous films in which he played the main lead.
Ganesan was the second son of his family. He had two brothers, Ganesan married Kamala in 1952 and had four children.His younger son Prabhu is a notable Tamil actor.He has two daughters Shanthi and Thenmozhi He died at 7:45pm on July 21, 2001 at the age of 72
